  1. This is a good way to get tarty scalloped potatoes. My wife always covered the top of the scalloped potatoes with a good quality sausage, then baked it in the oven. The juice from the sausages drops down through the potatoes, and the potato liquid sometimes forms a crust on the sausages. Delicious, and a favourite of everyone who tries it

  2. When I makes scalloped potatoes, I microwave the scrubbed potatoes a few minutes. They will feel very hot but still firm, slice them unpeeled, and use in the recipe.
    Cuts way down on cooking time and less risk of underdone even after a long time in the oven as happens with some of TGE more waxy potatoes.
